All Creatures That On Earth Do Dwell (plus a few that probably don't)

Image
Here's a new creature-based display on the library floor of books from the stacks, a bookish menagerie. We've got diatoms and great whales, the humble robin and the noble eagle, the flimsy butterfly and the armoured rhino, the burrowing mole and the roaring lion, the brainy octopus and the simple (down to) earthworm, the elusive Nessie and the dubious Yeti. Here is just some of the teeming diversity of birds, fishes, mammals, insects and arthropods which share this green planet with us human animals.      From the foxes in your back yard to the seals off the Devon coast and further afield to the wildlife of the islands of Heligoland and the plains of the Serenghetti , the icefields of Antarctica and the jungles of the Amazon. Explore the habits and habitats of the birds and the beasts which have seasonally migrated from their shady roosting grounds in the stacks below your feet.
